Karen Skogstad provides Physical Therapy at Prairie Lakes Rehabilitation Services with 30 years of experience in provision of physical therapy in a multitude of settings including; acute hospital care, home health and long term care with specialized training in Lymphedema management. Karen graduated from the University of North Dakota. 

Hunter Burns graduated from Lake Area Technical College from the Physical Therapist Assistant program in 2021 and is currently a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the home health setting.

Tyler is originally from Watertown, South Dakota. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Haley and his family. His hobbies include watching football, playing video games, swimming, and going for walks.

Haley has a strong passion for providing pelvic health physical therapy services to women, men, and children to not only improve the quality of her patients’ lives but empower confidence in the patient populations she serves. Additionally, she has a special interest in acute care rehabilitation assisting patients after total joint procedures, balance concerns, and acute cardiac conditions. In her free time, Haley enjoys playing tennis, being with family and friends, and reading a good mystery novel.

Haley Rowland earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of South Dakota.

Heather has worked at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistnant for 5 years. She has 2 children and has been married for 5 years. Heather enjoys spending time with friends and family, lake days and warm weather!

Heather's favorite setting is Home Health because she enjoys seeing how a patient functions in their own environment. She feels it is also more personal and rapport can be established more quickly.

Kathy is a native of Watertown. Graduated from Lake Area Technical College. She has worked in many areas of therapy including long term care, memory care units, acute hospital, outpatient, and some home health therapy. 

Katie Stransky earned her Masters in Physical Therapy from The College of St Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the South Dakota Physical Therapy Association. She earned her Graston certification in 2016. Katie works in the PLHS Home Health Department providing physical therapy to patients in their homes.

Mariko had a research background in swallowing disorders at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign prior to beginning her clinical career, which included extensive experience with modified barium swallow studies and other instrumentation that measured various aspects of normal human swallowing.

With over 20 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist in the acute inpatient, inpatient rehab and outpatient settings, Mariko currently holds licensure in South Dakota and Washington state, as well as national certification from ASHA. She has been certified to provide Vital Stim therapy for swallowing rehabilitation since 2004 and introduced this treatment modality to this region in 2022.

Mariko received her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University. She also received her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
